Covering an area of 738.74 square kilometres, Khao Sok National Park constitutes, together with the neighbouring natural parks, the largest area of continuous forest preserve in the Thai peninsula with 4,000 square km of rain forest, limestone forest and secondary forest. It is only in this area that large mammals such as tigers and elephants have survived in the south of Thailand, although little is known about their status. Come with us and explore the habitat of these and many more beautiful animals. Afterall, Khao Sok is home to hundreds different species of wildlife, not to mention countless floral species! Departing from Khao Lak in the morning, you'll drive along a scenic road up north to reach the Jungle Elephant Camp. For 1,5 hours you will experience the tropical nature from the back of an elephant, crossing rivers, up and down the mountains with good views of Flora and Fauna. After the ride you can feed your giant taxi with bananas and other fruit. Relax for lunch while enjoying some delicious Thai delicacies. After, you'll have the chance hang out at a small river for some bathing, monkey watching, etc. Khao Sok is named after the "Sok River", on which you'll embark for a 2 hour canoe trek. No worries, there will be a special guide in the canoe with you, to steer you safely around bushes, sandbanks and some smaller rapids. In the silence of the cruise, you will have the chance to see many tropical birds, such as the blue kingfisher and the hornbill, plus strange frogs ands sometimes snakes sleeping on the mangroves trees. The river is surrounded by spectacular mountains.
Inspired by Thailand exotic heritage, Phuket Fantasea is a 140 acre cultural park that has become one of the biggest attractions in Phuket. A night at the Phuket Fantasea includes: a shopping street, a vast dining facility where guest can indulge in a sumptuous feast of royal Thai dishes and popular international cuisine, and a state of the art theatre that houses a Las Vegas style theatrical production.
The show with acrobats and animals follows the legendary story of the Kamala kingdom, of its king and his trusted elephant that will help him regain the love of his beloved and of his people. Bring your kids here and enjoy a night of fun and wonders.
Just 70 km west of Khao Lak lays a gateway to another world: Koh Similan, one of the best-known island groups in the Andaman Sea. Rated among the 10 most interesting dive areas in the world, this little archipelago has become a favourite destination for snorkelers and divers alike. And at good reasons: the conditions for coral growth here are ideal, with an average sea temperature of about 28 C°and exceptionally clear waters; more than 200 species of hard coral alone have been identified so far and the greatest schools of reef fish in Thai waters can be found here. In fact, in terms of both marine life and bottom topography, there's more variety than you'll find in most other dive and snorkel destinations around the world. The Similans offers almost everything - coral walls, big rocks, huge sea fans and barrel sponges, caves, swim-throughs as well as plenty of shallow water for snorkelling - you'll find coral gardens in as little as six to seven metres depth! Gift your dear ones and yourself to a day wondering at the amazing underwater life these islands are blessed with - an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
