Baan Lae Ley | Stilish, Two Bedroom Villa in Koh Phanga

A contemporary style villa, situated on a hillside which runs down to the sea, giving stunning views over the sea. In daylight, relaxing on the outside deck or swimming in your private infinity pool, you can watch the small ferry boats making their way round the island while at night the lights of the fishing boats bobbing around on the sea will provide a constantly changing picture.

Destination Koh Phangan

Koh PhanganKoh Phangan is a hilly island, covered by dense tropical jungle and surrounded by white sandy beaches and beautiful turquoise, transparent waters. Set off the East coast of Thailand, with Koh Samui to the south and the Ang Thong Marine Park to the west, Koh Phangan is fringed with many clean, quiet, white sandy beaches and it retains a laid back atmosphere: you won't find high-rise hotels or package resorts here, and much of the accommodation is still in very simple bungalows. However, some luxury resorts and villas have been developed recently for those who wish to enjoy such a pristine environment in a more sophisticated setting. There are many attractions and things to do on and around the island: close by are the islands of Koh Maa and Koh Tao which offer some of the best snorkeling and diving in Thailand. You can stroll around the old Chinese fishing village of Chaloklum, relax at the beautiful twin bays of Thong Nai Pan, or join the famous full moon party on Haad Rin beach. You can trek or go by mountain bike to explore the centre of the island, to see its many waterfalls, and the varied plant and animal life. Some of the more remote beaches are only accessible by track or local boat services and getting to, and from, these locations is an experience in itself.
The Ang Thong Marine Park is an archipelago of around 40 islands, all uninhabited, covered in dense jungle and home to many different species of lizards, birds, monkeys and bats, whilst in the surrounding seas you can see a huge variety of fish including turtles, dolphins and whales. Many of the islands have small sandy beaches, caves and reefs making them an ideal destination for a day out. Elephant trekking is another interesting way of getting around the island and seeing the sights. Renting a kayak and paddling up the coastline, staying at one of the yoga retreats, visiting a health spas, kiteboarding and wakeboarding, or just lying on the beach and relaxing, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself on Koh Phangan.

The Location: Thong Nai Pan Beach

Thong Nai Pan Beach_view of the 2 baysThong Nai Pan Noi and Thong Nai Pan Yai are twin coves that form a scenic double bay and are the most popular beaches in the east and sunrise side of the island. Both beaches are the image of paradise with softly curved white sand bays surrounded by mountains covered in rich tropical rain forest. The surrounding mountains make these beaches fairly inaccessible with a steep and rutted dirt road being the only overland option. However, road works have commenced to make it a dual lane concrete road and it's possible to get to the beaches by boat from Had Rin or Chaloklum. Thong Nai Pan Yai is the longer of the two beaches and therefore has a larger selection of accommodation. There are numerous walking trails and waterfalls to visit, and Thong Nai Pan Yai also has a decent set of rocks for experienced climbers. This side of the island is still pretty wild, and the surrounding jungle is haven for many exotic tropical creatures. There is no coral reef on the east coast of the island, and it is possible to swim at both beaches all year round, though Thong Nai Pan Noi is the best as it's the deepest bay. There is little to see in the way of marine life, but there are some decent waves for body surfing. Thong Nai Pan Noi is the most popular of the two beaches with a bohemian vibe and has a small village with some cool bars and restaurants.
